UPDATE: IndyVisual is honored to have been recognized globally by the International Live Events Association with a fourth Esprit Award at ILEA Ignite 2023 in San Antonio for Best Event Capture, a recently combined category for both event filmmaking & photography. We are so thankful to our amazing corporate, wedding and music clients for your continued support!

IndyVisual is deeply honored to have been named by our international special event industry peers as “Best Event Filmmaker” for the second year in a row at the International Live Events Association Esprit Awards in New Orleans.  This was our seventh overall nomination for an Esprit Award, and the fifth consecutive for the filmmaking category.  In addition to winning the same award in 2014, we also won for Best Team Effort in 2010.  Special thanks to Kelly & Vince Early of Thomas Caterers of Distinction for accepting the award on our behalf, to our clients who have entrusted us with capturing their events for the past 22 years, and to our friends in the event industry whose support and referrals have kept us busier than ever!

IndyVisual is honored to announce that for the fourth consecutive year, we have been nominated for an ISES (International Special Events Society) Esprit Award, including the third straight year for Best Videography!  The Esprit Awards are considered the Oscars of the event industry, and to be recognized as one of the world’s top three videographers once again is a tremendous honor.

We are also excited that our friends Gene Huddleson at Detail+Design, Tiffany Stoner of Nathaniel Edmunds Photography (our Team Effort co-winner in 2010) and Leigh Anne Elliott of the Children’s Museum have also been nominated, two of them for other events that we filmed as well. Winners will be announced at ISES LIVE 2013 in the Bahamas on August 24.

For a second straight year, I was honored to film the Blissful Wishes Ball, an annual fundraising extravaganza benefiting the Indianapolis chapter of Wish Upon a Wedding, which is a non-profit organization that provides weddings to couples facing terminal illness or life-altering circumstances.  The festivities took place at the Landmarks Center, which was stunningly transformed into an eye-popping “Arabian Nights” experience by a supremely talented team of event pros.  From the early formalities to the food, music & many other surprises, it was truly a magical evening surrounded by so many great friends, which made the footage even more fun to put together.  Best of all, the gala raised well over $20,000, ensuring that couples who truly understand the meaning of “in sickness and in health” can enjoy a beautiful wedding provided by Wish Upon a Wedding’s dedicated team of wish-granters.

We are thrilled to announce that IndyVisual was recognized with three PACE Awards at the ISES (International Special Events Society) Indiana PACE Awards ceremony on Friday at D’Amore Indianapolis.  The awards were for Best Social Videographer, Best Corporate Videographer, and Best Team Effort (Budget Under $75,000).  The first award was for the work we did at the paw-sitively dog-tastic 50th birthday event for Erin Hession‘s aunt Mary, and the latter two were for the work we did with the inspiring Blissful Wishes Ball benefiting Wish Upon a Wedding.

We were also honored to be involved in events that won other awards, such as Best Wedding (Budget $75,000-$200,000) and Best Wedding (Budget Over $200,000) by Detail+Design (thanks for the shout-out, Gene!), as well as Best Industry Contribution given to Monica Richard for leading the founding board of the Indianapolis chapter of Wish Upon a Wedding, on which I am honored to serve.   It was such a joy to see so much due recognition given to so many great friends in the industry, and an even greater joy to celebrate with them afterwards while consuming massive amounts of Thomas Caterers‘ tasty creations.

These awards will sit happily alongside our five previous PACE and Esprit (the international version of the PACE) trophies.  Of course, awards aren’t the reason that we do what we do, but being recognized by the best of the best in the event industry inspires us to continue growing and serving our clients to the best of our ability.

I recently had the pleasure of filming Art of the Table at the Columbia Club for the fourth consecutive year.  Organized by the Indiana chapter of the Association of Bridal Consultants as a benefit for the Betty Jackson Memorial Education Fund and American Cancer Society, this event featured astounding tablescapes by many of Indy’s most talented event designers.  It was truly a joy to hang out with so many talented friends who were table designers, fellow sponsors, committee members and volunteers.  Events like this make me so proud to be a member of ABC!

Indianapolis Colts Pro Bowl safety Antoine Bethea invited many of his fellow playmakers and friends to the Colts Grille for a launch party and fundraiser for his new charity, the Safe Coverage Foundation, benefiting youth in several communities.  There were some very sweet auction items including signed jerseys by the likes of Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretzky, Albert Pujols, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady and of course Peyton Manning.  I had a blast mingling with Antoine and other Pro Bowl players such as Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Joseph Addai &  Robert Mathis, and it was great to catch up with team captain & former client Gary Brackett (who confirmed that he loved his wedding film – yay!).  The gals from Eventfull Planning, along with Molly Connor Photography, Pink Poppy Ink,  Sweet Pea Floral and Evans Audio Visual, did a superb job of not only implementing the event, but handling the very busy checkout line after a successful evening.

I’ve been honored to be involved with Wish Upon a Wedding over the past year, and what a year it has been! From our launch in January through two wishes granted, the Indianapolis chapter has been one of the most active in the country, in large part due to the many event industry friends who have supported us tremendously in our efforts to provide weddings for couples facing life-altering circumstances.

Our final big event of the year was the Blissful Wishes Ball, held at the Conrad Indianapolis, which gave us an opportunity to raise additional awareness and funds, say “thank you” to a lot of people, and announce yet another wish to be granted this spring. Here are some highlights from a very fun and inspiring evening!

Photographer Erin Hession pulled out all the stops to celebrate her dear Aunt Mary’s surprise 50th birthday party at D’Amore Indianapolis.  Because Mary, owner of Canine Retreat, has such a tremendous passion for dogs, Erin set out to create a canine-themed event, hiring her friends at A Touch of Elegance, Setting the Mood, Thomas Caterers of Distinction, Classic Cakes, DJs Direct and Strike a Pose among others to create one of the most abundantly clever implementations of a theme that I have ever seen.  From the bone-shaped napkins to the two huge treat tables (only one for humans) to the “Come Sit Stay” window decals to the photo booth props (see yours truly below), not one opportunity was overlooked to make Mary feel right at home.  Her reaction to every surprise that kept on coming was priceless.  Everyone had a blast, and it was an honor to take part in yet another milestone in the lives of this wonderful, close-knit family.  (Click here to see more photos of this paw-sitively fun event!)

Art of the Table is a showcase of designer tablescapes sponsored by the Association of Bridal Consultants Indiana Chapter to benefit the Betty Jackson Memorial Education Fund, the Dorothy Penner Memorial Scholarship, and the American Cancer Society. Here are the highlights from this year’s amazing showcase at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
