Jill & Joe’s wedding day was so much fun, with a ceremony and reception at the beautiful Indiana History Center. Coverage started with their preparations at the JW Marriott alongside photographer Jamie Sangar, followed by their first meeting at the IHC. My favorite ceremony moment was when the two adorable ring bearers each tossed a football to the groom (a nod to his NFL job) after walking down the aisle. After a nice cocktail hour on the canal, the festivities continued with a reception featuring elegant decor by Alley Flowers, excellent service by MBP Catering, nonstop party music by Jeremy Gearries of DJs Direct, and pies…lots of pies. It was great to work with such a fun team and catch up with so many former clients on this gorgeous day!

Ashley & Scott were so much fun to work with, from their first look at the Village of WestClay to their wedding ceremony at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, and then on through their reception back at the Meeting House in WestClay. After capturing early preparations at Ashley’s house, photographer Pete Nagy and I headed over to the nearby gazebo for their first meeting and cute gift exchange. The ceremony at the church was followed by a getaway in a sweet ride, along with more fun photos at the Japanese Style Garden in Carmel. The reception was a blast, with service by Ritz Charles Catering and nonstop party music by DJs Direct, along with a fun photo booth. I only wish I could have stuck around to see Ashley & Scott’s reaction to their hilariously graffiti’d and ballooned getaway car!

A year after filming the wedding of Caleb’s sister Haylee, I had the pleasure of capturing Caleb & Chelsea’s wedding at Northview Christian Church in Danville, followed by their reception at the Washington Township Pavilion Center in Avon. After the couple’s first meeting at the altar, we all headed to the Hendricks County Court House for some photos with Barry Lewis of BPL Images in the stunning atrium. Then we returned to the church for their beautiful ceremony and a sparkler exit. An Eiffel Tower structure added a touch of Paris to the pavilion, and Evan of DJs Direct kept the party in full swing, even as the happy couple stepped away for a few fun shots in the Happy Snaps Photobooth.

Sijia & Matt enjoyed a picture-perfect fall day for their wedding and reception at the Mansion at Oak Hill. Along with Dawn & Mike Fisher of Galleria Studios (who referred the couple to us), we captured some nice shots under the canopy of trees which later became the backdrop for their beautiful and emotional ceremony, highlighted by a unique rose ceremony that Sijia & Matt will recreate on their anniversaries. The bride looked stunning in her dress as well as makeup by Karen Hall. The flowers by Jan Johnson of Belle Fleur added elegance to the ballroom for the reception, which was expertly presided over by Jeremy Gearries of DJs Direct. The big day concluded in style with Sijia & Matt’s grand exit in an Antique Limousine provided by Jack Gambs.

Photographer Erin Hession pulled out all the stops to celebrate her dear Aunt Mary’s surprise 50th birthday party at D’Amore Indianapolis. Because Mary, owner of Canine Retreat, has such a tremendous passion for dogs, Erin set out to create a canine-themed event, hiring her friends at A Touch of Elegance, Setting the Mood, Thomas Caterers of Distinction, Classic Cakes, DJs Direct and Strike a Pose among others to create one of the most abundantly clever implementations of a theme that I have ever seen. From the bone-shaped napkins to the two huge treat tables (only one for humans) to the “Come Sit Stay” window decals to the photo booth props (see yours truly below), not one opportunity was overlooked to make Mary feel right at home. Her reaction to every surprise that kept on coming was priceless. Everyone had a blast, and it was an honor to take part in yet another milestone in the lives of this wonderful, close-knit family. Elena and Ryan enjoyed an elegant wedding ceremony at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church before celebrating with a surprise-filled reception at the Scottish Rite Cathedral. Following the ceremony, the bridal party took off in a trolley for photos with Jamie Owens of J. Scott Photography at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
The reception setup looked fabulous thanks to the efforts of Royal Creations, Thomas Caterers of Distinction and Classic Cakes. Rick of DJs Direct kept the crowd going all night and helped execute the highlight of the evening to perfection, as Elena and her father “interrupted” their own father-daughter dance to surprise their guests with an epic Greek dance.
