Ashley & Scott were so much fun to work with, from their first look at the Village of WestClay to their wedding ceremony at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, and then on through their reception back at the Meeting House in WestClay. After capturing early preparations at Ashley’s house, photographer Pete Nagy and I headed over to the nearby gazebo for their first meeting and cute gift exchange. The ceremony at the church was followed by a getaway in a sweet ride, along with more fun photos at the Japanese Style Garden in Carmel. The reception was a blast, with service by Ritz Charles Catering and nonstop party music by DJs Direct, along with a fun photo booth. I only wish I could have stuck around to see Ashley & Scott’s reaction to their hilariously graffiti’d and ballooned getaway car!

Sara & Matt’s gorgeous wedding day at the beautiful Mustard Seed Gardens was such a feast for the senses, with so many indelible moments to cherish. I met Sara seven years ago at a fun “trash the dress” shoot with Nathaniel Edmunds Photography, so knew what I’d be in for when I got the call about her wedding – lots of music & lots of fun.  Sara has music in her soul & simply couldn’t stop singing, whether it was to Matt during the ceremony (with the bridesmaids on backup) or at the end of the night, and the song she wrote & recorded for her father was a tearjerker during their dance.

The amazing details big & small probably deserve their own blog post, but my favorites were the keepsake hankie passed through the generations sine 1940, the wedding programs that doubled as popcorn bags, and pretty much everything inside the wedding barn.  Add a handsome groom who could hardly look at Sara without tearing up and a hilariously unpredictable little boy named Dex who just about stole the whole show, and you have a perfect wedding day that I wish I could film over & over.  Props to Design Group, A Cut Above Catering, Sound Advice along with so many others for making this day unique and special!

It was such a pleasure to film Erin & Charlie’s wedding ceremony at St. Mary Catholic Church, followed by a fun stop at Holcomb Gardens with photographer Jon Brewer and our seventh reception of 2013 at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, who referred this wedding to us.  This was a wedding party that knew how to have a great time, and the Thomas Caterers team as well as Midwest Sound DJs did a fantastic job of keeping up with this crowd’s energy.  My favorite moment was a guest’s totally over the top Neil Diamond impression that got the party started on the dance floor!

Liz & Mitch’s epic wedding day started with a lovely ceremony at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by a private cocktail hour for the bridal party at the Long Gallery inside the Conrad Indianapolis and a huge reception & after-party at the Scottish Rite Cathedral (who along with another recent client referred Liz & Mitch to us).

Everything looked magical, from Alan Thompson, AIFD‘s magnificent centerpieces to Evans Audio Visual‘s dramatic lighting. The superb dinner service by Thomas Caterers was topped off by a delicious creation from Classic Cakes. The whole Detail+Design team ran the day to perfection, and the great live music and fun crowd gave photographer Andrew Scalini and me many wonderful moments to capture on the dance floor.

From their gorgeous ceremony at St. Barnabas Catholic Church through their epic reception at the Crowne Plaza at Historic Union Station, Kristen & Tim’s wedding day was truly inspired.  Following preparations at the Crowne, we all headed to the church, where Kristen & Tim enjoyed a nice moment together without seeing each other.  That moment was followed by a beautiful mass, and then more pretty photo ops with Jessica Strickland at the Indiana State Museum.

The reception was over the top amazing, with decor by Alan Thompson, AIFD of McNamara Florist, event branding by Pomp & Polish, live music by The Impalas, cake by Classic Cakes, lighting design by Evans Audio Visual, man-cave by Wow Factors, booth by Indy Photo Booths, and most impressively, a round dance floor replica of the iconic Union Station windows.  The vivid imagination of planner Monica Richard of Mon Amie Events (who referred this event to us) was evident in that as well as many other touches big & small inspired by the round window motif and the couple’s Notre Dame ties.  Cheer, cheer for Kristen & Tim!

Julie & Larry picked a gorgeous wedding day to exchange vows at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Zionsville and celebrate at D’Amore Indianapolis.  After the ceremony, photographer Jessica Strickland and I headed downtown for some fun shots around the War Memorial before settling in at D’Amore for the best view in the city along with some lovely decor by Posh Petals, superb service by Thomas Caterers, and sublime entertainment by Event One DJs.  Special thanks to Jess & D’Amore for referring such a sweet couple to us!

Being hired by fellow event industry professionals is the highest honor I could receive, so I was excited when Greg Imboden of the Indy Express Band gave me a call about his & Linda’s wedding day. The ceremony at Faith Presbyterian Church was filled with nice musical touches, especially the bride’s entrance to their song “When I Fall in Love.” I had a blast afterwards with photographer Amanda DeBusk as we captured some nice moments around Fort Harrison. The reception at the Fort Harrison State Park Inn was an affair to remember, with a very melodic cake by Classic Cakes setting a tone at the entrance. With pianist/vocalist Dave Lowe leading the way, Greg and his musician friends provided wonderful music for their guests throughout the evening, with my favorite moment being Greg’s jam session with his two talented sons.

Katie & Marc’s wedding & reception at The Alexander was a great way to kick off a busy Labor Day weekend. From their preparations through their first look and photos around this amazing property, it was a joy as always to work alongside Tiffany & Nate of Nathaniel Edmunds Photography (who referred Katie & Marc to us). When the weather was refusing to cooperate, Maxie Haber and her Alexander staff did a phenomenal job of improvising the timing and order of the ceremony & cocktail hour to make it eventually work inside the ballroom, where Posh Petals‘ decor looked simply fabulous. I loved so many things about the reception, including Tiffany & Maxie joining the hora, the family gift presentation that had me ready to duck, and the superb club DJ/live band mash-up that Marc affectionately calls “Sleepy Floyd and the Indy Local Musician Alliance.”

Erin & JP’s beautiful wedding day at the Eiteljorg Museum could not have been more perfect.  After opening each other’s thoughtful gifts (what groom wouldn’t want a duffle bag full of candy?), they shared a tender first meeting while photographer Ryan Woodall and I captured the moment.  The ceremony in the Circle Garden was beautiful, with flowers by Posh Petals, music by Jim Cerone (who referred Erin & JP to us), and an aloha-accented message by officiant Scott Rudicel for their Hawaiian guests.

After cocktails by the canal, everyone headed up to the ballroom for an amazing evening highlighted by Kahn’s Catering‘s flawless service, a hilarious speech by the best man and a tearful father-daughter dance, while coordinator Christine Kingery worked hard behind the scenes to help keep the day running smoothly.

Highlights from Liz & Patrick’s beautiful wedding weekend in Kokomo, Indiana.
