The Soldiers & Sailors Monument provided a majestic backdrop for Hilary & Travis’ ceremony on the first floor of the Columbia Club as well as their reception in the Crystal Terrace on the third floor.  It was hard not to smile at the start of the ceremony when a family friend sang “Today I Met the Boy I’m Gonna Marry” while Travis nervously awaited the entrance of his stunning bride.

After some photos on Monument Circle with Andrew Scalini, the action moved to the Crystal Terrace, where the guests enjoyed amazing service, a photo booth by Indy Photo Booths, and great live party music by Zanna-doo.  Consultant Leslie Jones (who referred Hilary & Travis to us) did a masterful job behind the scenes, and Tim Kelley of Palmer Kelley Designs filled the room with an ambiance that provided an elegant balance to the stunning chandeliers overhead.

Bridget & Chad are a fun couple who love a good party, so it was only fitting that their wedding day at the Scottish Rite Cathedral was more than just an occasion for two to become one – it was also the party of the year.  After a first look in the Tilers Room, the couple went off for photos with Hether Miles and then returned to preview the spectacular ballroom and practice their first dance.  After exchanging vows in the beautifully transformed theater, they returned to the ballroom for the first dance as their surprised guests looked down from their cocktail hour on the mezzanine level.

Everyone had a blast during the reception, which was filled with a lots of sweet family moments, personal touches, superb service by Thomas Caterers of Distinction and great music by DJ Freddie Lockett with percussionist Joe Melton amping up the beats while some guests made their way to one of the Indy Photo Booths.  But that was merely the warm-up, as the South Lounge was converted into a virtual nightclub for a wild afterparty (vodka snow cones, cotton candy & caricatures were among the surprises) with music by DJ Orion that kept everyone hopping until 2 a.m.

Bridget’s brother J Scot Reid, himself an event planner, entrusted the day’s events & decor to the Detail+Design team of Gene Huddleson and Monica Richard, who did an amazing job transforming not just one but three separate spaces.  I was honored to be included with this A team, which gave me a lot of spectacular sights – and memories – to film.

Kelsey and Peter’s ceremony took place on the first floor of the Columbia Club followed by a reception in the 10th Floor Ballroom. We started the day capturing the couple getting photos taken by photographer Kiera Dubach.

The flowers for the ceremony and reception were beautiful thanks to JP Parker Flowers. As always, guests enjoyed dancing to the music provided by Jim Cerone (thanks for the referral Jim!) and posing for fun pictures in the booth from Indy Photo Booths. The reception highlight was a beautiful serenade by the bride to the groom.

Best wishes Kelsey and Peter!

Julia and Matt got married at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and had their reception at the Columbia Club. We knew that the wedding party would be a fun group because the whole family cracked Bob up during the consultation!

The ceremony included beautiful music by the church choir. Afterwards, Bob took a trolley with the wedding party to the Indianapolis Museum of Art for shots with photographer Andrew Scalini.

The 10th floor ballroom at the Columbia Club had lovely decor thanks to Casey Scott and Posh Petals. The open dancing started with a surprise song from the bride to her mom played off of Bob’s iPhone. Zanna-doo rocked the house as always, and the guests loved the photo booth by Indy Photo Booths.

Congratulations Julia and Matt!

Kaitlyn and Blake had a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception at the Indiana Roof Ballroom. Our coverage started earlier that day at the Conrad Hotel where the couple saw each other for the first time. We captured this special moment alongside our friend and talented photographer, Jessica Strickland.

Since the couple met in high school and even attended Prom together, it was only fitting that they exchanged personal vows during the ceremony. The Indiana Roof Ballroom looked stunning thanks to flowers and decor by Posh Petals and a gorgeous cake by Classic Cakes. The local band, Cousin Roger, provided the great music, and the couple finished the night with cute photo booth shots provided by Indy Photo Booths. Best wishes to Kaitlyn and Blake!

Tammy and Brian got married on a hot day in August at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. To keep their guests comfortable for the outdoor ceremony, the couple provided sunglasses, fans and lemonade. The groom even custom-built the cute lemonade stand, which made for a picture-perfect photo op with photographer, Jessica Strickland.

Teresa Gift and Leah McFarland of Eventfull Planning and Palm Court Design did an amazing job with all of the decor, including the balloons leading to the ceremony site, the benches scattered among the guests’ chairs and the beautiful florals. Everything provided such a lovely setting for the ceremony, which incorporated touching speeches from family members.

Jim Cerone hosted the reception and provided all of his personal touches before and after the delicious dinner prepared by Kahn’s Catering. Heavenly Sweets made a cake to look like the bride’s dress, and both the cake and the dress were stunning! Indy Photo Booths supplied crowd-pleasing entertainment with fun photos, and the couple provided popcorn as a late night snack. Congratulations to Tammy and Brian, and thanks for letting us capture your special day!

In a year filled with “weddings of the year,” Ragan & Gary’s wedding and reception at the Scottish Rite Cathedral was definitely right up there, with a deeply spiritual ceremony, mind-blowing decor and an amazing couple who were sweet, humble, funny and charismatic all at the same time.  Coverage started at the rehearsal, where Gary surprised Ragan with a gift that had to be seen to be believed, followed by dinner with a view at the Skyline Club.

After preparations on the big day, everyone reconvened at the Scottish Rite, where the couple enjoyed a rare quiet moment together before some photo time with Andrew Scalini.  The gorgeous, intimate ceremony that followed in the theater probably did not prepare their guests for the extravagance that was to come, as Circle City Planners (who referred us – thanks, Darcie!), McNamara Florist, Evans Audio Visual, Thomas Catering and Heavenly Sweets all collaborated to transform the ballroom into a truly spectacular world never before seen in that elegant space.

Ragan & Gary had a memorable introduction to the reception along with the rest of their party, but saved their best entrance for after the early formalities, when they re-emerged with umbrellas and handkerchiefs to lead the guests in a French Quarter style “second line” parade.  There was one more surprise remaining for the guests, a stunning “hidden” lounge area featuring mouthwatering desserts and Indy Photo Booths‘ new “flipbook” setup, which Ragan & Gary used to hilarious effect.

(“Team Effort” video submitted with ISES Esprit Award entry.)

When many of Indy’s top wedding professionals collaborated on Abbie & Gabe’s spectacular “Rock ‘N’ Roll Holiday Wedding” last fall, we knew that it was an award-worthy event. That recognition came last weekend in the form of the prestigious International Special Events Society (ISES) Esprit Award in the category of Best Team Effort, one of the evening’s top awards, and the first ever brought home to Indiana for a wedding.

Most of our nominated slate traveled to Baltimore for the Esprit Awards ceremony, which concluded Eventworld 2010, the annual ISES conference. After a fun-crammed day of shenanigans under the sun in the famous Inner Harbor, we arrived at the ceremony with some anxiety over how we would fare. The second we heard the first syllable of our entry’s name announced as the winner, we all exploded, and the high never let up from the stage to backstage photos and throughout dinner, dancing and afterwards.

Major props to our award-winning team of Circle City Planners, Nathaniel Edmunds Photography, KB Designs, Evans Audio Visual and Indy Photo Booths. Thanks as well to Crowne Plaza at Union Station, Circle City Designers and the Flying Toasters among others who made the event what it was. Of course, not of this would have been possible without a beautiful couple at the center of it all, so big thanks to Abbie & Gabe for falling in love and entrusting us with your unique vision.

With the Indy 500 just around the corner, Kaitie & Richie brought plenty of Race Day cheer to their wedding at St. Mary’s Catholic Church and reception at the Westin.  Coverage started with a rehearsal dinner fiesta at Adobo Grill, then continued the next morning as the guys gathered for some old school shaves & cuts at Red’s Classic Barber Shop, while the gals got ready at the Westin.  After a sweet gift exchange in which the firefighter groom scored a cool new helmet, everyone headed to St. Mary’s for the beautiful ceremony.

After photos on a classic firetruck, we headed to Monument Circle for some photos with Kevin & Alicia Monahan, then returned to the Westin (who referred Kaitie & Richie to us), where some incredible race-themed decor by Kathy’s Kloset awaited us.  A bagpiper led guests into the ballroom, and the band Living Proof took over from there, tearing it up with some killer rock/R&B while the guests hammed it up for Indy Photo Booths.

Our spring wedding season kicked off in style as Marie & Jay tied the knot at the Conrad. The day started with a visit to Red’s Barber Shop for the guys and makeup by Kiralee for the gals. After a heart-tugging first meeting, Marie & Jay headed out for some fun photo ops with bobbi+mike, eventually joined by their “Best Dog” Tater.

The beautiful ceremony and reception were overseen by consultant Kim King Smith and her staff, with splendid decor throughout by Bokay Florist. When the guests weren’t crowding one of the Indy Photo Booths, they were either glued to the dance floor thanks to great music by DJ Jason Ryan of AMS Entertainment or trying out bobbi+mike’s new “unboxed photobooth.” Thanks to all of the above for the referral, thanks to Jet Kaiser for helping me out at the last minute, and big thanks to Marie & Jay for being such an awesome couple to work for!
