Lauren & Evan’s wedding day at the Lucas Estate was every bit as epic and breathtaking as the venue itself, where I had not worked since filming a wedding and doing other projects for the Hilberts back in the day.  Photographer (and former IndyVisual groom) Zach Dobson and I captured Lauren & Evan’s preparations in the pool house and sports complex respectively, while planner Leslie Jones (who referred this wedding to us) and designer Alan Thompson, AIFD worked behind the scenes to get the courtyard ready for the stunning ceremony.  The reception rocked courtesy of an amazing setup by Wow Factors/Evans Audio Visual, another fabulous cake creation by Classic Cakes, and awesome live music by the Wendy Reed Band.

Brooke & Jeff’s wedding day was breathtaking in every way, from the gorgeous ceremony at Broadway United Methodist Church through the stunning reception at the Indiana Roof Ballroom.  Following preparations at the Conrad Indianapolis, Brooke and Jeff exchanged a first look under the Roof’s marquee before heading to White River State Park for photos with Ian Borgerhoff.  The ceremony was lovely and emotional, with Alan Thompson AIFD‘s massive floral arch greeting the guests at one end of the aisle and his towering arrangements providing an elegant backdrop for the altar.  The reception decor was simply out of this world, highlighted by a cake collaboration between Alan & Classic Cakes that had to be seen to be believed.  With Darcie and the Circle City Planners team overseeing the day, a wonderful time was had by all, especially once Dave and Rae took the stage.

Meredith & Jamie were such a fun couple to work with throughout their wedding weekend at the Indianapolis Museum of Art, from their ketubah signing at the rehearsal through their beautiful ceremony behind the Lilly House & Gardens, culminating with an amazing reception in the Deer Zink Pavilion.  Overseeing all the details was planner Anne Rogers, and the decor by Alan Thompson AIFD of McNamara Florists, especially around the chuppah, gave photographer Jennifer Driscoll (who referred us) and me a lot of eye candy to work with.  Dinner service by Kahn’s Catering was perfect as always, as was the entertainment by “The Perfect Host” himself, Jim Cerone.

When Monica Richard of Mon Amie Events told me that her husband Paul had brought up the idea of recreating elements of their wedding day to celebrate their 15th anniversary, I knew something special was in store, and I knew my answer to her next question would be “Of course!” Photographer Jessica Strickland and I captured preparations at the Omni Severin Hotel downtown, a limo ride to Bloomington, photos on the Indiana University campus where they were married, and a lovely reception back at the Omni.

There were so many wonderful moments and surprises on this special day that I’ll have to leave them for others to decribe in more detail. But my favorite surprise was when Bryan & Nick from the Endless Summer Band showed up unannounced during an epic seven-course dinner to serenade the couple with their original first dance song. (Though I might be biased since I was the one who set up the surprise!) Overall it was such a gorgeous, wonderful day that I’ll never forget, spent with this lovely couple, their parents and kids, and an all-star team of vendor friends. Happy 15th to Monica & Paul, and here’s to the next 15!

Liz & Mitch’s epic wedding day started with a lovely ceremony at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by a private cocktail hour for the bridal party at the Long Gallery inside the Conrad Indianapolis and a huge reception & after-party at the Scottish Rite Cathedral (who along with another recent client referred Liz & Mitch to us).

Everything looked magical, from Alan Thompson, AIFD‘s magnificent centerpieces to Evans Audio Visual‘s dramatic lighting. The superb dinner service by Thomas Caterers was topped off by a delicious creation from Classic Cakes. The whole Detail+Design team ran the day to perfection, and the great live music and fun crowd gave photographer Andrew Scalini and me many wonderful moments to capture on the dance floor.

From their gorgeous ceremony at St. Barnabas Catholic Church through their epic reception at the Crowne Plaza at Historic Union Station, Kristen & Tim’s wedding day was truly inspired.  Following preparations at the Crowne, we all headed to the church, where Kristen & Tim enjoyed a nice moment together without seeing each other.  That moment was followed by a beautiful mass, and then more pretty photo ops with Jessica Strickland at the Indiana State Museum.

The reception was over the top amazing, with decor by Alan Thompson, AIFD of McNamara Florist, event branding by Pomp & Polish, live music by The Impalas, cake by Classic Cakes, lighting design by Evans Audio Visual, man-cave by Wow Factors, booth by Indy Photo Booths, and most impressively, a round dance floor replica of the iconic Union Station windows.  The vivid imagination of planner Monica Richard of Mon Amie Events (who referred this event to us) was evident in that as well as many other touches big & small inspired by the round window motif and the couple’s Notre Dame ties.  Cheer, cheer for Kristen & Tim!

Videographer Brandon New did a great job capturing Liz & Brice’s big day, from their wedding at Christ Church Cathedral on Monument Circle to their huge celebration at the Indiana Roof Ballroom. Liz enjoyed a sweet first look with her dad before the ceremony, and the music during the wedding was highlighted by an amazing choir right alongside the cameras in the balcony. The ballroom at the Roof looked simply gorgeous with flowers by McNamara Florist and a cake by Classic Cakes, and the always-awesome Zanna-doo rocked the guests all night long, with a little help onstage at one point by Liz & Brice along with a few little party starters. Thanks to photographer Shane Rodimel & the Leslie Jones Weddings team for being great to work with, and huge thanks to the Indiana Roof Ballroom for the referral!

Beth & Ronan | Second Presbyterian ChurchWoodstock Club

After a first meeting between Beth & Ronan at her family’s home, everyone headed to Second Presbyterian Church for photos with Sara Morris.  Following the ceremony, guests were greeted at the Woodstock Club for cocktails in a stunningly designed tent that only hinted at the splendor awaiting them inside the club for dinner.  The happiest father of the bride I’ve ever seen presided over the evening’s formalities before everyone moved back into the tent to dance to Lipstick Blonde‘s retro rock under another spectacular arrangement of flowers.  McNamara‘s Alan Thompson, AIFD (who referred Beth & Ronan to us) was the creative mind behind all the floral the fabulosity, and planner Anne Rogers worked hard behind the scenes to make the whole day run to perfection.

Stephanie & Stafford’s wedding day at The Montage was filled with fun, family, friends and decent weather in the middle of a crazy hot summer.  After the couple’s first meeting in the ceremony garden, our good friends Dawn & Mike Fisher of Galleria Studios took the bridal party around the property for some nice photo ops.  The ceremony in the garden was beautiful, as were the vows that Stephanie & Stafford wrote for each other.  The reception inside was highlighted by the usual amazing service by Kahn’s Catering (who referred this event to us), tastefully elegant decor by Alan Thompson, AIFD of McNamara, and packed dance floor courtesy of Mark Beecher from Grapevine Entertainment.
