There is no greater honor to me than being hired by an event industry peer to capture their special day, so I was genuinely thrilled when I got the call about filming Katie & Kemmon’s big day. I’ve come to know and adore Katie throughout her years with the Crowne Plaza at Historic Union Station, and that’s where our coverage started, as the team from A Touch of Elegance helped get the couple ready for an emotional first meeting. In keeping with their balloon motif, Katie & Kemmon released two pairs of balloons into the sky, symbolizing their lost loved ones, before taking off for photos with Angel Canary.

After a beautiful ceremony at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church and a sweet visit to a memorial for Katie’s mother, everyone headed back to the Crowne Plaza’s Grand Hall for the reception, where a great team of vendor friends including Julie Acheson of Royal Creations, DJ Brian Whitis and Classic Cakes had a few surprises in store for their dear friends. Even I got into the act, surprising the couple with a same day edit that I had only decided to do earlier that day after being inspired by a huge window decal on Kemmon’s car as well as the balloon release.

Angela & Chad are a stunning and very sweet couple who exchanged vows in a lovely Friday ceremony at St. Mary’s Catholic Church before celebrating at the Scottish Rite Cathedral.  Though they didn’t see each other before the wedding, Josie of Crowe’s Eye Photography set up a cute moment where they got to hold hands and say “hi” to each other.  Then after the ceremony, we hopped over to the Lockerbie area for some more shots before heading to the reception.

The ballroom looked fantastic, not surprising given the team behind it – Darcie of Circle City Planners (who along with the Scottish Rite referred Angela & Chad to us), Circle City Designers, Thomas Caterers, Classic Cakes and nice lighting by Brian Whitis.  Mark Beecher of Grapevine Entertainment expertly presided over an amazing evening enjoyed by all, and after some candid shots in a Circle City Photobooth, we couldn’t say goodbye to this adorable couple without a few more nighttime shots outside.

Nimi & Rav’s epic wedding weekend culminated with a traditional Hindu ceremony at the Indiana State House, followed by a jam-packed evening of entertainment at the Hyatt Regency.  Our coverage began on Saturday morning as the groom arrived in a very high-spirited baraat processional, with the majority of the two-hour ceremony taking place under an extravagant mandap provided by Mayil Mandaps filled with beautiful details and traditions.

The reception at the Hyatt commenced with a hour-long program filled with speeches, formalities, and plenty of dancing, including a cool interpretation of different stages of the couple’s courtship.  The ballroom looked fantastic courtesy of decor by Bokay Florist with assists by Classic Cakes, LGI Linens and Evans Audio Visual among others.  DJ Khiladi kept the crowd in a frenzy with expert mixing of Indian and western dance music, and photographer Angel Canary (who referred the couple to us) captured the fun through her candid coverage as well as her nicely constructed photo booth.

Photographer Erin Hession pulled out all the stops to celebrate her dear Aunt Mary’s surprise 50th birthday party at D’Amore Indianapolis.  Because Mary, owner of Canine Retreat, has such a tremendous passion for dogs, Erin set out to create a canine-themed event, hiring her friends at A Touch of Elegance, Setting the Mood, Thomas Caterers of Distinction, Classic Cakes, DJs Direct and Strike a Pose among others to create one of the most abundantly clever implementations of a theme that I have ever seen.  From the bone-shaped napkins to the two huge treat tables (only one for humans) to the “Come Sit Stay” window decals to the photo booth props (see yours truly below), not one opportunity was overlooked to make Mary feel right at home.  Her reaction to every surprise that kept on coming was priceless.  Everyone had a blast, and it was an honor to take part in yet another milestone in the lives of this wonderful, close-knit family.  (Click here to see more photos of this paw-sitively fun event!)

Stephanie and Anthony had a lovely ceremony and a gorgeous reception at the Scottish Rite Cathedral. Our day started alongside great friend and photographer, Angela Talley (who referred the couple to us), capturing the bride and groom getting ready, their first look and shots all around downtown Indy at locations that mean a lot to the couple. Kiralee and Irina from EyeMAX Makeup did a wonderful job on makeup and hair for the bridal party, as always.

The theatre and ballroom looked fabulous thanks to McNamara Florist, Evans Audio Visual (who also came through with the DJ last minute!), Classic Cakes, and of course, Thomas Caterers of Distinction provided the delicious food, including the unique rose sorbet. The fun-filled reception included the bride and groom doing lots of flips during dancing, and the groom even led his mom in a polka. Their Polish family tradition of putting an apron on the bride got all of the guests up and dancing around her, and guests stayed on their feet all night long.

Best wishes, Stephanie and Anthony! Thank you so much for having us capture your special day!

Elena and Ryan enjoyed an elegant wedding ceremony at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church before celebrating with a surprise-filled reception at the Scottish Rite Cathedral. Following the ceremony, the bridal party took off in a trolley for photos with Jamie Owens of J. Scott Photography at the Indianapolis Museum of Art.

The reception setup looked fabulous thanks to the efforts of Royal Creations, Thomas Caterers of Distinction and Classic Cakes. Rick of DJs Direct kept the crowd going all night and helped execute the highlight of the evening to perfection, as Elena and her father “interrupted” their own father-daughter dance to surprise their guests with an epic Greek dance.

Congratulations Elena and Ryan!

Kali and Garrett got married at St. Mary Catholic Church, and they had an absolutely stunning reception at the Indiana Roof Ballroom. It was wonderful working with Jim of Meyer Photography while capturing all of the special moments between the bride and groom throughout the day.

The reception looked beautiful thanks to flowers by the Design Group and a cake by Classic Cakes. The Indy Express Band (who referred the couple to us!) entertained everyone and kept the dance floor packed! Congratulations Kali and Garrett! Best wishes for a lifetime of love and happiness!

Jill and Cody had their wedding ceremony at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, and their reception followed at the Conrad. The couple saw each other for the first time in Sower’s Garden at the church before photos with Melody and Jeremy of Carpenter Photo & Design. After the ceremony, Jill and Cody exited the church as guests waved Texas flags (where the couple lives now).

The ballroom at the Conrad looked beautiful thanks to decor by JP Parker Flowers and a fabulous cake by Classic Cakes. The Cocktail Sax Band entertained the guests during cocktails, while Jon of Event One DJs rocked the reception. Deanna Boyce of Eventfull Planning did a great job of running the show, with help from new EP partner Laura Lim.

Best wishes to you always, Jill and Cody!

Kyle and Caleb pulled out all the stops for their phenomenal wedding and reception at the Scottish Rite Cathedral. The tears started flowing the night before as Kyle’s mother dedicated a serenade to her during the rehearsal dinner at The Capital Grille.

Photographer Jennifer Driscoll and I captured preparations with Karen Hall and Company the next day at the Conrad, followed by the couple’s first look and more photos outside the Scottish Rite. The ceremony in the south lounge had many unique touches, from the “time capsule” box enclosed with wine bottles and notes that Kyle and Caleb hammered shut, to the dove release during the grand exit.

Consultant Darcie Kornmeyer of Circle City Planners (who referred Kyle and Caleb to us) and Tiffany Mullen of Circle City Designers teamed up to transform the ballroom once again, with a huge assist from Thomas Caterers of Distinction, Evans Audio Visual and Westwood Paper Company. Chris Burger of Copper Moon Entertainment presided over the evening’s many highlights, kicked off by a surprise early first dance on the ballroom floor during the cocktail hour as their guests enjoyed the view from the mezzanine above.

Congratulations Kyle and Caleb!

Claire and Thomas had their gorgeous wedding ceremony and elegant reception at the Conrad Hotel. Special thanks to Amanda Coffey of the Conrad and Gene Huddleson of Detail + Design for referring the couple to us!

The bride and groom had their “first look” on the hotel’s staircase followed by photos downtown with Andrew Scalini. The ceremony included wonderful personal touches, including hilarious vows written by Claire.

Afterwards, the reception decor was absolutely stunning thanks to Detail + Design, KB Design and Classic Cakes. The Flying Toasters rocked the house, and Monica Richard of Detail + Design ran the day to perfection. The evening concluded with French fries and a swanky after party next door.

Best wishes Claire and Thomas, and thanks for letting us capture your special day!
