Jenni & Bob wanted their residential wedding to feel like a cozy, personal gathering of their closest family and friends, so consultant Monica Richard and designer Gene Huddleson (both of Detail+Design) delivered an eye-popping experience that was intimate, unique and spectacular all at the same time. The guests arrived for a pre-ceremony cocktail hour and were greeted by a tent filled with elegant designer furniture, which created a comfortable atmosphere in which they could mingle and then witness the ceremony featuring classic rock music and lyrics by Neil Young, the Rolling Stones and the Beatles.
The reception tent design was a tour de force effort, spreading the same living room vibe around the most unbelievable dance floor I have ever seen or heard of – a detailed replica of the couple’s favorite Monet painting, with “rippling” water courtesy of BMG Productions. Add some energetic funk/R&B by the Chicago Catz and a few onstage appearances by the groom himself (his serenade to the bride with “867-5309/Jenny” was a definite highlight), and you have one extraordinary evening that no one there will ever forget.
Huge thanks to John & Angela Deaver of Main Street Productions for traveling 11 hours to film this event for us, Jenni’s sister Rachel (whose very different yet equally stunning wedding we filmed last fall) for putting in a good word for us, and especially Monica for bringing us into an incredibly talented team that also included photographer Hether Miles, Hoaglin Fine Catering, A Classic Party Rental, KB Designs, Elite Management Services Valet Parking and Classic Cakes among many others.
