Shekema & Matthew enjoyed a beautiful wedding in the Ritz Charles chapel, followed by a lively reception in the main building. Coverage started with the bride’s preparations in the Renaissance Hotel across the street, while the hilarious groom kept his friends in stitches at the chapel. The ceremony was short and sweet, concluding with the traditional jumping of the broom. Photographers Kevin & Alicia Monahan captured some fun moments after the ceremony while coordinator April Foster & McNamara Florist put the finishing touches on the ballroom. Wes Adkins of Event One DJs guided the couple guests through the formalities as well as a funny “Newlywed Game” before packing the floor with some great tunes.

Courtney and Lyle enjoyed a beautiful wedding ceremony and terrific reception at the Crowne Plaza at Historic Union Station. Courtney looked amazing thanks to our good friend Kiralee of EyeMAX Makeup. The ceremony included many beautiful Filipino traditions, including a coin exchange as well as veil and cord ceremonies.

Afterwards, we wandered around the station for some photos with Jeremy and Vickie while the Crowne Plaza staff (who referred Courtney and Lyle to us) and JP Parker Flowers flipped the Grand Hall for the reception. Everyone enjoyed dancing to the tunes played by DJ Dennis Furr, and I particularly enjoyed the delicious treats that Lyle’s mother Lilia sent home with me.

Congratulations Courtney and Lyle!

Kyle and Caleb pulled out all the stops for their phenomenal wedding and reception at the Scottish Rite Cathedral. The tears started flowing the night before as Kyle’s mother dedicated a serenade to her during the rehearsal dinner at The Capital Grille.

Photographer Jennifer Driscoll and I captured preparations with Karen Hall and Company the next day at the Conrad, followed by the couple’s first look and more photos outside the Scottish Rite. The ceremony in the south lounge had many unique touches, from the “time capsule” box enclosed with wine bottles and notes that Kyle and Caleb hammered shut, to the dove release during the grand exit.

Consultant Darcie Kornmeyer of Circle City Planners (who referred Kyle and Caleb to us) and Tiffany Mullen of Circle City Designers teamed up to transform the ballroom once again, with a huge assist from Thomas Caterers of Distinction, Evans Audio Visual and Westwood Paper Company. Chris Burger of Copper Moon Entertainment presided over the evening’s many highlights, kicked off by a surprise early first dance on the ballroom floor during the cocktail hour as their guests enjoyed the view from the mezzanine above.

Congratulations Kyle and Caleb!

Vanessa and Matt had a beautiful ceremony at Holy Cross Church followed by a fun-filled reception at the Mavris Arts and Event Center. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Vanessa many times at the IMA and Mavris, and I was honored to be hired to film her wedding.

As always, it was great working alongside Tiffany and Nate of Nathaniel Edmunds Photography from preparations with Karen Hall & Company at the Mavris through the ceremony at Holy Cross and pictures afterwards around downtown. The reception looked spectacular due to Vanessa’s vision, brought to reality by David Strohmeyer of Empty Vase. I loved the butterflies, Chinese lanterns and tulips throughout the decor, especially on the cake by Heavenly Sweets.

The guests enjoyed Troy Hill’s Clikz Photo Booth as well as the great party music by the Souled Out Band, including a surprise reunion of Matt’s former bandmates. Vanessa and Matt couldn’t have been any sweeter, and we all had a blast working for one of our dearest friends in the industry. Congrats!

IndyVisual was recently honored to win three ISES PACE Awards at the totally tubular 80’s prom-themed gala attended by Indiana’s top event professionals.  Our winning categories were Best Videography for Asha & Tyrone’s epic wedding in St. Lucia, Best Team Effort ($75K-200K) for “An Affair to Remember,” and Best Team Effort (Over $200K) for “Monet’s Canvas.”

In all, ten of the awards handed out were for events that we filmed.  “Monet’s Canvas” also picked up trophies for Best Catered Event (Over $25K), Best Marketing/Design Collateral (Over $25K) and Best Wedding (Over $200K).  “An Affair to Remember” scored additional wins for Best Corporate Event ($75-200K) and Best Event Design/Decor ($25-75K).  The other award-winning events we filmed were “Secret Garden” and “Come Rain, Shine or Darkness,” which won for Best Wedding ($75-200K) and Most Creative Solution respectively.

Of course the biggest honor was simply the privilege of being a common thread in such a wide variety of amazing events.  It seemed that whenever there was an award-worthy event in 2010, we were entrusted to film it.  Special thanks to the many incredible talents who referred these events to us, and who generously acknowledged us in their speeches.  Overall it was a fantastic night filled with fun, food, dancing and great friends…not to mention a LOT of Madonna clones.

The winning team for the night’s top award – Best Team Effort (Over $200K)

The Indianapolis chapter of Wish Upon a Wedding kicked off in style with a launch party at D’Amore Events of Indianapolis. Depsite wearing several hats on this evening, I had a marvelous time mingling with so many great friends while spreading the message that it’s never too late for a couple facing unimaginable adversity to experience the wedding of their dreams. We are so grateful to the many people who donated their time, money and talent to support this launch as well as future wish-granting efforts. Please visit wishuponawedding.org for more information about this wonderful cause.

Sally and Dale had their wedding ceremony and reception at Sangiovese Restaurant in Indianapolis on a sunny day in September. Our coverage started earlier in the day when the couple saw each other for the first time at the Flowing Well Park in Carmel. Darcie Kornmeyer from Circle City Planners (who referred the couple to us!) and photographer Jennifer Driscoll improvised this “first look” location, and it turned out beautifully.

The bouquet was assembled from separate flowers (provided by Circle City Designers) that were carried in by their four children at start of the ceremony as a symbol of combining their two families. Their vows were especially emotional because Sally and Dale stood by each other “in sickness and in health” early in their relationship.

The reception had a wine theme with decor to match, including grapes on Heavenly Sweets‘ cake. The night included lots of speeches by their closest friends and family and great music from the Cocktail Sax Band. Thank you Sally and Dale for having us capture your special day. You two are truly special people.

Adorably sweet couple, Ellen and Mike, got married at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Carmel, and the reception followed at the Mansion at Oak Hill where guests were greeted with favors of yummy Greek desserts at each place setting.

DJ Joe Virgin kept the crowd dancing all night, and photographer George Abiad took a ton of photos of all the fun!

It’s easy to see that Ellen and Mike are just smitten with each other, and we loved capturing all of their tender moments. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Brianna and Alex had a beautiful wedding ceremony at North United Methodist Church followed by a lovely reception at the Skyline Club. (It’s always great to get a referral from a previous client, so thanks to Megan and Justin Carter for referring the couple to us!)

After covering the ceremony, we enjoyed working with photographer Matt Bowen while getting shots with the bridal party at Monument Circle.

The flowers were provided by McNamara, and the cake was created by Classic Cakes. The evening’s entertainment was high-energy thanks to the Keith Claghorn Band. Tons of fun dancing and singing ensued, complete with a father-daughter dance fakeout and sorority serenades.

Best wishes to the happy couple, Brianna and Alex!
